The Transport Authority says a meeting will be held on Tuesday to address issues regarding the demerit point system used to suspend driver’s licences.

This follows a withdrawal of services on Monday by some operators of public passenger vehicles, PPVs.

These operators expressed concerns about the move to suspend drivers’ licences, as well as the assignment of points for certain infractions under the Road Traffic Act.

Managing Director of the Transport Authority, Ralston Smith, says Tuesday’s meeting will include entities such as the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, PSTEB and the Island Traffic Authority, ITA.

Mr. Smith is encouraging operators to reach out to their respective representatives with their concerns to aid in the discussion.
