The Trelawny Municipal Corporation has issued a construction stop order on a property in Scarlett Hall in the parish, where scores of occupiers are insisting they purchased the land.

However the occupiers are yet to produce documents claiming ownership.

Mayor of Falmouth, Collin Gager, told Nationwide News that individuals have been ordered to cease construction after the matter was brought to the attention of the Municipal Corporation.

Mr. Gager shared, that at first the construction went unnoticed because developments were being made on areas of the property that were heavily forested.

He added that the Municipality is not sure of the agent through which the properties were allegedly purchased, however, they have been in dialogue with the rightful owner and the matter is now before the courts.
