Divisional Commander for Trelawny, Superintendent Carlos Russell, says the parish has seen a 63 percent decline in murders since the start of the year. Superintendent Russell says only three murders were recorded this year, compared to eight for the corresponding period in 2020.
The Divisional Commander added that the parish has only recorded one rape case since the start of the year.
The Superintendent noted that community interventions have been implemented to fight crimes in the parish.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Russell says there has been an increase in robberies in the parish this year.
The senior lawman also pointed to an increase in domestic disputes which has contributed to numerous crimes.
