Dr. Tufton was vying with the Councillor for the Point Hill Division, Devon Wint, for the right to succeed the JLP veteran, Dr. Ken Baugh, as the party’s representative in the constituency.

Dr. Baugh, the long serving MP is retiring from representational politics.

But the selection process was suspended in July, after a quarrel developed over the integrity of the delegates voters list.

Dr. Tufton says the uncertainty could harm the party.

Efforts to contact JLP General Secretary, Dr. Horace Chang, were unsuccessful.
