Two ramp attendants have been charged with breaches under the Dangerous Drugs Act by the Narcotics Division in relation to an incident that occurred at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Thursday, February 8.

The two men are 30-year-old Artnel Grant of a Kingston 5 address and 32-year-old Christopher Cummings of Yallahs, St. Thomas.

Reports are that at about 3:00 pm, lawmen and members of the Jamaica Customs Contraband Enforcement Team conducted a joint operation at the airport car park.

During the operation, two men were seen inside a car. The men’s actions aroused the suspicions of the lawmen and customs officers. The men were arrested and searched.

A search of their vehicle reportedly uncovered 55 pounds of ganja concealed inside a suitcase that was in the trunk of the car.

The men were charged with possession of, dealing in, attempting to, and conspiracy to export ganja and possession of criminal property on Saturday, February 10, following a question-and-answer session in the presence of their attorneys.
