Forty-six-year-old Peter Mills, a construction worker of Race Course in Clarendon, and 30-year-old Nygano Davis, a bus operator of Pimento Walk, Ocho Rios St. Ann, are scheduled to appear before the St. Ann Parish Court on Friday, February 16, on drug charges.

The two men were arrested during an operation at Eight River Plaza in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, on Thursday, February 8.

Detectives assigned to the Area 2 Narcotics Police Division say lawmen intercepted two motor vehicles in the area at about 1:00 pm.  Both vehicles were searched.

The police say a package containing 3.8 kilogrammes of cocaine was found concealed in food items in one of the vehicles, along with $118,000.

The cocaine has an estimated street value of US$114,000 or JMD $17.8 million.

The two motor vehicles were also seized during the incident.

Mills and Davis were slapped with charges of possession of, dealing in, trafficking, and possession of criminal property on February 10 after they were interviewed in the presence of their attorneys.

Meanwhile, the Area 3 Narcotics Division seized and destroyed over 1,200 pounds of ganja in St. Elizabeth on Saturday, February 10.

Reports are that lawmen were on an operation in the Little Park district between the hours of 10:00 am and 12:00 pm when four men were observed running away from a premises into nearby bushes.

A search of the premises revealed the illicit drug, which has an estimated street value of JMD $12 million.
