A gun battle between police and gunmen, in Portmore, St. Catherine last night, has left two men dead.

Two guns, including a high-powered weapon, was also seized.

According to the police, the men were contract killers waiting on a phone call to murder a man in Portmore.

Dead are 18-year-old Okeyre Davis and a man identified only by his alias, ‘Waan Bad’.

Head of Operations at the Greater Portmore Police, Superintendent Leighton Gray, says the gun battle happened at the Sugarman’s Beach Club in Hellshire.

The police seized a 0.45 pistol and a high-powered Intratec sub-machine gun with eight 9-millimeter rounds of ammunition.

Superintendent Gray says the men were awaiting a call to commit a murder in Portmore.

Information from the Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, is that the men are from Central Kingston.
