The United District Constables Association, UDCA, is urging its members to accept and sign off on the latest compensation offer from the government.
In a missive to its membership last evening, the UDCA’s Executive says it received a favourable offer from the Ministry.
They believe that given the lengthy time of the review, as well as the heightened anxiety and expectations of its members, it’s in their best interest to sign before the end of the week.
The executive’s decision is anchored on feedback from its members about what is considered acceptable compensation for their work.
Last week, the Jamaica Police Federation voted to accept the government’s offer, though some controversy surrounded the process by which the vote was tallied.
However, the Federation’s executive has not yet formally written to the government accepting the deal.
