Acting Chief Executive Officer of the University Hospital at the West Indies, UHWI, Fitzgerald Mitchell, says the patient canteen at the facility was closed for renovation works.
According to Mr. Mitchell, the facility should be re-opened before the end of the week.

Nationwide News reported on Tuesday that the canteen had been ordered shut due to breaches of the country’s food handling regulations.
We had seen a copy of the closure notice which spoke to those food handling breaches.
The closure notice was issued on Monday.
