The US Coast Guard returned 305 migrants to the Bahamas and Haiti between Sunday and Monday.

They were intercepted in several illegal maritime migration attempts as part of ‘Operation Vigilant Sentinel’.

One hundred and nine of them were handed over to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force following an interception near Anguilla Cay, Bahamas.

In a statement, the Coast Guard, in conjunction with the Homeland Security Task Force – Southeast, affirmed their commitment to patrolling on land, at sea and in the air to rescue and repatriate anyone attempting to enter the United States illegally by sea.
