Deputy General Secretary of the People’s National Party, PNP, Basil Waite, has apologized for disparaging remarks against some members of the Jamaica Labour Party while on a political platform.
Mr. Waite says he’s apologizing for the offence his words caused.
The comment in question was uttered by Mr. Waite at a political function in St. Elizabeth on July 21.
Mr. Waite was instructed by the Political Ombudsman, Donna Parchment Brown, to apologize within three days or meet with her to resolve the matter.
Speaking on Nationwide @ 5 on Monday, the Deputy General Secretary of the PNP said the sentiment he chose to express was awkwardly put.
However, he refused to provide an explanation for the comment.
