The disgraced former FIFA Vice President, Jack Warner, says football’s world governing body is being ridiculous, with its decision to ban him from all football related activity for life.

FIFA says the decision was made based on findings of an investigation which showed that Warner was involved in a series of corrupt activities while he served as one of football’s most powerful executives.

But in a statement today, Warner laughed off the ban, saying it was a waste of time, given that he had resigned from all FIFA related activities four years ago.

He says the decision may be an attempt by FIFA to create a distraction, given that its embattled President, Sepp Blatter is being investigated by Swiss authorities for his role in a corruption matter.
