Vice-President of the Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica, ASAJ, Lance Rochester, admits it has been a challenge maintaining the fitness of the Water Polo team due to orders from the Ministry of Health that puts a restriction on the number of persons that can gather in one area due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Barbados recently published the summons for CARIFTA 2021 with the exclusion Water Polo.
Rochester says the swimmers have not trained as a group since the stadium pool was ordered shut by the authorities to help in the control of the virus.
