A man was fatally shot and a firearm seized during an early morning raid in St. Elizabeth on Wednesday.
Reports are that a police team conducted an operation in the Burnt Savannah community of Lacovia between 5:00 and 5:45 am targeting criminal suspects from Kingston who were believed to have been hiding out in the parish.
The police comprised members from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch and the St. Elizabeth Division.

He dead man has yet to be formally identified.
The police say they recovered a Smith and Wesson .40 pistol, loaded with a magazine containing eight rounds of ammunition, which was dropped by the suspect after he was shot by lawmen.
The JCF says the police have notified the Independent Commission of Investigations about the fatal shooting.
No member of the JCF was injured during the operation.
