The West Indies tour of Bangladesh could be cut short by one test match after Cricket West Indies asked their Bangladesh counterparts to make the series as short as possible.

The tour is to have three tests, three ODI’s and two T20 Internationals, but, the Bangladesh Cricket Board, BCB, says Cricket West Indies wants to finish the assignment at an earlier date.

This could prompt cutting one of the test matches.

The move is also expected to delay the West Indies’ arrival in Bangladesh.

The Caribbean team was scheduled to fly into Bangladesh on January 7.

Plans are also well advanced for a bio-secure bubble and the duration of the quarantine period.

BCB has presented a comprehensive COVID-19 management plan to Cricket West Indies for approval, in taking the first steps towards the resumption of international cricket in the country.
