The President of the West Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Pastor Glen Samuels is coming under fire this afternoon for a comment he made last week at the annual National Prayer Breakfast.

Pastor Samuels, who was delivering the main address, rebuked those women whom he says are living a life of misplaced values.

To much laughter and rousing applause from those in attendance, Pastor Samuels noted that it makes no sense for women to be wearing a $5,000 hairstyle on a $5 head.

But social commentator and member of the Women’s Advocacy Group, 51% coalition, Judith Wedderburn says she was offended by the comment.

This is the comment Pastor Samuels made last week at the prayer breakfast, to an audience which included the Governor General, Prime Minister and Opposition Leader.

But the comment has not gone down well with Ms. Wedderburn.

Ms. Wedderburn says the comment doesn’t help struggling women.

According to Ms. Wedderburn, Pastor Samuels could have approached the matter differently.
