The World Health Organization, WHO, says a test to more easily diagnose cases of the Zika virus, could be available by the end of this month.

That’s according to Assistant Director General of Health Systems and Innovation at the WHO, Dr. Marie-Paule Kieny.

Speaking at a WHO press conference last Friday, Dr. Kieny says the test will help in diagnosing patient, and help researchers monitor the spread of the virus more easily.

She says ten biotech companies are close to providing a viable test, with another ten actively developing one.
