People’s National Party, PNP, Vice President, Dr. Fenton Ferguson, is coming in for criticism from the Opposition JLP following his comments at a constituency conference in East Kingston on Sunday.
Dr. Ferguson stated that as local government elections are approaching, the governing PNP will have to consider how to spend money in order to take care of its workers.
The Health Minister also chided critics of what he called “benefit politics”.
A statement from the JLP this afternoon noted that Dr. Ferguson also went on to state “we must take care of our workers, because if we not taking care of our workers when election come, some of them abandon us.”
JLP Chairman, Robert Montague, says Dr. Ferguson’s remarks are alarming.
Mr. Montague says the PNP and its Vice President should proceed with caution.
