The Meteorological Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas.

The Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the parishes of St Mary, Portland, St Thomas, Kingston and St Andrew, St Catherine and Clarendon.

Duty Forecaster at the Met Service Ronald Moody says the flash flood watch means that flash flooding is possible.

The Met Service says residents are being advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued.

The Flash Flood Watch will be in effect until 5 p.m. today.
