Hundreds of taxi operators and some bus drivers in Spanish Town, St. Catherine are at this hour continuing their protest in the parish.
The angry operators have left hundreds of commuters stranded since early this morning after withdrawing their services over what they claim to be unfair points being lodged against their licenses and harassment from the Police and Transport Authority.
They say the protest will likely continue tomorrow.
President of the Route Taxi Association of Jamaica, RTAJ, Sophia Campbell, says the operators have grown tired of the draconian regulation.
Mrs. Campbell says the operators want a formal agreement with the Transport Authority to resolve the issues.
