Education Minister Ronald Thwaites has indicated that teaching time lost in the Christmas Term due to the outbreak of the Chikungunya virus will be recovered.
Minster Thwaites says the time lost will be recovered on a school-specific basis.
He says some schools will be able to absorb the additional time needed within their fixed term dates.
But he says in other instances where additional days are required it would be the purview of the school boards to indicate what is required
Minister Thwaites says the impact of Chik V is trending down in terms of the number of teachers and students absent from school.
He says so far, only one school has been closed due to the Chikungunya virus.
