The youth arm of the Opposition JLP, Young Jamaica, says the current problems in the health sector highlight major failings in the leadership skills of portfolio Minister, Dr. Fenton Ferguson.

In a statement today Young Jamaica called on the Minister to get his act together and resolve the problems at the University Hospital of the West Indies and at Victoria Jubilee.

Young Jamaica says if Dr. Ferguson feels overwhelmed by the various issues affecting the health sector, he should either resign or ask for help.


The Kingston and St. Andrew Major Investigation Task Force, has named two men as persons of interest.

The men are Jason Marlon Ricketts, otherwise called ‘Guso’, of Retreat Drive, Kingston 10 and Kevin Gowdy, otherwise called ‘Fudgie’, of Dunrobin Avenue, Kingston 10.

The police say both men can assist with an ongoing investigation.

They are being asked to report to the KSA’s MIT office at the Kingston Mall on Ocean Boulevard by 6pm tomorrow.

Anyone knowing their whereabouts is being asked to contact the KSA MIT at 922-1532 or 948-9181, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
