Education Minister, Ronald Thwaites, says by the end of next year, pit latrines in schools will be a thing of the past.

Minister Thwaites says Food For the Poor recently signed a contract with the government for more than 100 million dollars, so they can, at a reduced cost, bring water closets into some 50 schools of 200.
Minister Thwaites further emphasized that partnerships are the way forward.
He said this is the way forward in every aspect of Jamaican life and educators must be the heralds of that principle and its constant evangelizers.
