Twenty-two people were killed across the island last week.
That’s in the seven days from October 20 to 26.
The data is from the latest crime statistics compiled by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF.

According to the JCF’s crime report issued on October 20, there were 918 recorded murders across the island.
Six days later, on October 26, 22 were added, bringing the total to 940.
Still, the JCF says the annual murder tally is on the decline.
In its October 26 report, the JCF says the country has recorded 220 fewer murders than the corresponding period last year.
St. James continues to lead, with the most murders in any police division -112.
That figure is still lower when compared to the corresponding period last year, when 161 people were killed.
St. James is followed by St. Andrew South, which has 87 murders.
The Westmoreland Division is next, with a total of 82 homicides recorded.
Manchester, St. Elizabeth, St. Andrew Central, and St. Andrew North all recorded increases.
Portland maintains its record of having the lowest number of murders reported, with eight.
Meanwhile, shootings have declined by 7%, coming in at 8-45 as at October 26.
Other major crimes, such as robberies, rapes and break-ins also continue to decline.
