Some 23 Jamaicans arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport from Antigua today. 

The Jamaicans are reportedly University of the West Indies students who were living in Antigua.

National Security Minister, Dr. Horace Chang confirmed that the Jamaicans have arrived and will be subjected to the government’s ordered 14-day quarantine procedure.

The government closed the country’s borders last month, in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Dr. Chang says the government maintains that the Jamaicans will be allowed to re-enter the country, based on resources and facilities available to quarantine them.
