The Manchester Police today arrested and charged a man for several counts of rape, robbery and unlawful wounding.

The man’s been identified as 29-year-old Sheldon Mitchell of Sunset Drive, Knockpatrick in the parish.

He’s unemployed.

Police say Mitchell was arrested following a series of “thorough” investigations into reports from several residents, spanning November 2019 and January 2020.

The Police are appealing to persons who may have been victims of robbery, rape or unlawful wounding in the parish to visit the Manchester Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, CISOCA or contact them at 876- 963-8283.

Members of the public are being assured that once a report is filed with the police, every effort will be made to secure the victims while a thorough investigation is conducted.
