Minister with responsibility for Education, Karl Samuda says funds have been identified to twin 35 secondary schools this year.

Twinning schools is expected to improve students’ performance and support a more inclusive educational system.

Mr Samuda told educators this week that once cabinet is able to approve more funds, the programme will be rolled out in a more fulsome way.

Meanwhile, Minister Samuda is also supporting a suggestion from educator Keisha Hayle, to raise the prestige of some schools.

He and Ms. Hayle were speaking at the Jamaica Teachers’ Association’s 55th Annual General Conference this week
