President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, TODSS, Egeton Newman, says approximately forty percent of members have withdrawn their services.

Mr Newman says the decision to withdraw services is in demand for a response from the government for a fare increase among other things.

He says, the operators have been waiting for eight years for an increase, which seems elusive.

According to Mr. Newman, taxi operators are suffering, despite having to report for duty daily.

He says demonstrations will continue until the Government responds appropriately.
