The Kingston West Police seized six firearms and 45 rounds of ammunition between Wednesday and Thursday this week.
The weapons include a tech nine sub-machine gun seized on Nelson Street, a Ruger 9-millimeter pistol found in Hannah Town and two Taurus 9-millimeter pistols with 33 rounds of ammunition seized on Princess Street and Tulip Lane respectively.
Police also seized one Beretta point-38 pistol with seven rounds of ammunition at Lincoln Avenue, and a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol with five 9-millimeter rounds of ammunition at the intersection of Lyndhurst Road and New Lincoln Avenue.
The police say the weapons were seized through a range of increased operational activities across the division following a series of snap raids, spot checks, and cordon and searches.
In the meantime, the Police High Command has commended the efforts of the division.
