Chairman of the Professional Football of Jamaica Limited, PFJL, Christopher Williams, is excited to see the first three premier League Clubs listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
The PFJL is expected to officially make the announcement later today.
Williams says such a move is demonstrating the financial viability of the clubs and the sport.
He says the revenue that will flow to the clubs over the next few years will be extremely attractive.
Meanwhile, Williams is bemoaning the expected increase in the number of Premier League teams from 12 to 16 by 2023.
Williams does not believe that the measure is feasible for the sustainability of top-flight football.
As part of the structural changes to the league, which were announced by Jamaica Football Federation President Michael Ricketts in 2020, four teams will be added to the top flight by the start of the 2022-23 season.
Williams says that the increase in the total number of premier league teams is not viable because of the lack of financial resources.
