The South East Regional Health Authority, SERHA, says the Spanish Town Hospital remains in emergency mode.

This as sections of the facility was severely flooded, including the Accident and Emergency department.

Regional Director of SERHA, Errol Greene says accident and emergency, A&E, was flooded by water from Burke Road in Spanish Town, amid heavy rainfall last Saturday.

Some patients have had to be relocated to safer wards.

Mr. Greene says the A&E department is due to be reopened on Tuesday.

Mr. Greene says the National Works Agency has assisted with resolving the issue which caused the hospital to be flooded.

Meanwhile, Mr. Greene says some facilities at the hospital were affected by the heavy rain and wind associated with Hurricane Beryl.
