A businessman was shot and killed in Knoxwood, close to Lacovia in St Elizabeth, on Wednesday.

He has been identified as Carl Brown.

Brown reportedly operated an equipment rental service.

Reports are that Brown was pounced on by a gunman at a house in Knoxwood shortly after 11AM.

The gunman escaped in a Toyota Voxy motorcar.

Brown was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
