The Clarendon Police are investigating a suspected case of domestic violence which has left one man dead, a woman hospitalized and their house burned down.
It happened yesterday morning in Pleasant Valley in Clarendon.
Dead is 28-year-old Mark Riley.
The May Pen Police say about 4:15 yesterday morning, residents heard cries for help coming from a woman, whose house was also seen engulfed in flames.
The woman had been stabbed several times.
After extinguishing the blaze, fire fighters found Mr Riley’s charred remains in the house, among the rubble. The woman remains hospitalised in serious condition.
In the meantime, the Police are renewing their appeal to victims of domestic violence to seek help.
The Police say intervention can be sought from the Courts, Churches and other support centers, including the Constabulary’s Domestic Violence Intervention Centres across the island.
