A suspected gunman has been shot and killed by the police following a deadly attack on a taxi operator in Nain, St Elizabeth, on Wednesday afternoon.
The taxi operator was shot and killed shortly after 5pm.
He has been identified as 48-year-old Rohan Hill.
The St Elizabeth Police report that Hill was transporting two men who had posed as passengers when he was shot and killed.
The police say shortly after the murder, a team was able to locate the suspects.
One of the men reportedly challenged the police, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
He was fatally shot during the confrontation.
Police are searching for the alleged accomplice.
The identity of the suspected gunman is not known at this time.
