US Ambassador to Jamaica, Donald Tapia, is denying claims that his country is trying to bully the Jamaican Government in a bid to prevent the country from entering into a 5G technology agreement with China or Chinese-based companies.
Mr. Tapia says there could be security risks for America, should Jamaica choose to partner with China for its 5G rollout.
Ambassador Tapia says Jamaicans need to know about 5G technology, because it’s inevitable.
Mr. Tapia is claiming that China cannot be ahead of the US in the race to implement the new technology, as they’re dependent on a US made chip, which he refers to as the brain of the 5G technology.
