Beaches are to reopen to the public tomorrow (Sunday), following a lockdown for several weeks as part of measures designed to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
At a digital media conference on Friday, Local Government Minister, Desmond McKenzie outlined the protocols to be observed at beaches going forward.
He says the beaches will only be open to swimming and jogging.
Minister McKenzie says beach parties, sports, board games and other events which encourage social gatherings are still banned.
And, he says all water attractions like pools are to remain closed.
The Local Government Minister says the new measures will be in place for 14 days and will also extend to rivers.
