Nationwide News understands that two members of the Jamaica Defence Force, JDF are in custody after they were intercepted by the Police driving a JDF vehicle with an illegal amount of ganja.

The soldiers were arrested in the Gutters area of St. Elizabeth and the drugs seized.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 last night.

Both soldiers reportedly engaged the Police in a shoot out prior to their arrest.

The Soldiers were in their military uniform when they were arrested.

Two firearms were reportedly seized from the soldiers.

They are to be questioned in the coming hours by the Police.

The soldiers were arrested following a joint operation which involved the Police and the JDF.
