Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness says bureaucracy is stifling investment opportunities in agriculture.
Dr. Holness was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 20th Caribbean Week of Agriculture at the Ocean Coral Springs Resort in Trelawny, on Sunday.
It brings together agriculture and fisheries ministers, farmers, fisherfolk, policymakers, researchers, private-sector representatives, development partners and youth from across the region to advance discussions on the future of regional food systems.
According to Dr. Holness, governments across the region must ensure that the bureaucratic process facilitates rather than frustrates investment.
