The Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, Richard Byles, is the new Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, FSC.

The disclosure was made Monday afternoon by finance minister, Dr Nigel Clarke.

Byles will be joined by several members of the Central Bank’s Management Committee as FSC Board members.

They include Senior Deputy Governor Wayne Robinson, Deputy Governor of Finance, Technology and Administration, George Roper and Deputy Governor in the Financial Institutions Supervisory Division, Jide Lewis.

Dr Clarke says four of the FSC’s current Board members will be retained.

They are former Deputy CEO at GraceKennedy, Erwin Burton, Retired partner of PwC, Dennis Brown, attorney-at-law Kenisha Davis and Senior Director at the BOJ, Hillary Robertson.

All appointments will begin with immediate effect.
