The Caribbean could be hit by its first Tropical Storm for the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane season.

This after a tropical depression today formed in the Eastern Atlantic, about 1665 miles east of the Windward Islands.

Forecasters say the system will soon develop into a tropical storm and is set to become a hurricane later this week.

Evan Thompson is the head of the Weather Branch at the Meteorological Service of Jamaica.

Mr. Thompson says although the system is expected to have an impact in the Eastern Caribbean, Jamaica must be alert.
