The Network of Caribbean Chambers of Commerce, CARICHAM, is expressing sympathy for the people of the Bahamas following the passage of Hurricane Dorian.
It notes the loss of life and livelihoods on the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama.
In a statement yesterday, the 18-country chamber network, CARICHAM, says it’s standing in solidarity with its colleagues at the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation.
It describes the vast damage caused by Hurricane Dorian as heartbreaking.
CEO of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, Trevor Ferron, is Deputy Director of CARICHAM.
He says the network is partnering with other regional bodies such as the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency, CDEMA, to provide support.
He was speaking on Tuesday with Nationwide News.
