Checks conducted by Nationwide’s Research and Special Investigations Unit have revealed the company at the epicentre of the controversial CAP contract scandal was struck off the company registry in Belize in January this year where it was incorporated.

However, it’s incorporated in Jamaica for more than two years.

CCA Capital Partners was incorporated in Belize.

It’s address was 111 North Front Street in Belize City.

It’s President and CEO is former commercial banker, Andrew Simpson.

Simpson signed the original engagement letter with CAP in May 2019.

But, checks conducted by Nationwide News revealed that Simpson’s company, CCA Capital Partners was struck off the business register in Belize.

A notice posted to the Belize International Corporate Affairs Registry, BICAR’s website advised that the “following companies have been struck-off the Register for failure to pay the license fee and penalty by December 31 as stated in Section 107 subsection (4) of the International Business Companies, IBC, Act of Belize.

The notice was posted on January 2, 2021.

On that list of companies struck off for failure to pay the required license fee and penalty is CCA Capital Partners Limited.

The notice that appears above the name of the Deputy Registrar of the International Business Companies Registry of Belize, Santiago Gonzalez, also states that a company that has been struck-off the Register under this section may apply to have the name of the company restored to the Register.

Efforts to contact Simpson to ascertain if the company has paid the requisite license fees, penalty and has applied to be restored to the company registry in Belize were unsuccessful.

Several calls placed to Simpson’s mobile phones went unanswered.

Several calls placed to Wright’s mobile phone seeking to ascertain if he was aware that CCA Capital Partners had been struck from the business register in Belize went unanswered.

Meanwhile, further checks conducted by Nationwide’s Research and Special Investigations Unit revealed that CCA Capital Partners is also registered in Jamaica. Official documents obtained from the Companies Office of Jamaica’s website shows that the company is presently listed as active.

It was incorporated on July 10, 2019.

And, has as its core activity “Business and Management Consultancy Including Farm Management”.

The address on record for CCA Capital Partners is Orange Street in downtown, Kingston.

Simpson is listed as the company’s sole shareholder.

He’s also listed as Director along with Anique Brandt, who is also listed as the Company Secretary.

A call was placed to the mobile number on file for Ms Brandt.

The woman who answered the phone initially denied that the number belonged to Ms Brandt.

She then ended the call abruptly.
