The Caribbean Development Bank, CDB, has established a 1-point-2 million US dollar regional Public-Private Partnership Support Facility, to be based at its headquarters in Barbados.

The partnership is made possible through cooperation with the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, Multilateral Investment Fund and the Public Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility.

Under the facility, regional governments would be given assistance with dealing with their infrastructure needs and severe fiscal challenges.

PPPs are still relatively new to the Caribbean.

Over the past ten years, a few have been successfully implemented, delivering high-quality infrastructure facilities.
