Health Minister, Dr Fenton Ferguson, may face a motion of censure in the House of Representatives this afternoon.

Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Audley Shaw, says he will move the motion, if Dr. Ferguson is unable to answer questions asked of him during last week’s sitting of the House.

Last Tuesday, Dr. Ferguson was asked whether there was any reference in the audit report about a bacterial outbreak affecting newborns at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James.

Dr. Ferguson said then that he could not recall.

Mr. Shaw, who has a daughter who was born premature, says Dr. Ferguson should have remembered if such an important reference was made in the report.

And the Opposition Spokesman went further, accusing the Cabinet of deliberately blocking the publishing of the document.
