The Central Kingston Police continue to increase their presence in the vicinity of North Street in downtown Kingston, following a murder today.

The police say preliminary investigations suggest the incident may have been a reprisal for the shooting death of student footballer, Omar Laing, in that area last month.

Head of the Central Kingston Police, Superintendent Beresford Williams, says the man was allegedly shot after he was attacked by three men who opened fire.

The dead man has been identified as 40-year-old Marlon Wisdom also called Barney.

According to Superintendent Williams North Street in the vicinity of Orange Street, has been the site of several murders since the start of the year.
