The National Water Commission, NWC, says the chlorine leak at its Mona Reservoir Compound in St Andrew on Tuesday has been contained.

In a release, the NWC says the issue was remedied through the coordinated efforts of its emergency response team, the supplier and the Jamaica Fire Brigade.

It says an assessment of the incident is now underway.

The NWC is encouraging citizens who may have been affected by experiencing symptoms to seek medical attention.

The chlorine leak followed an explosion involving chlorine tanks at the facility.
