The Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard intercepted a fishing boat with four Nicaraguans aboard and seized a quantity of ganja on Friday.

Reports are that close to midnight, about 11 nautical miles from Cabarita Point in Westmoreland, the Coast Guard was on patrol when they observed a blue and white fishing boat with one engine.

It is reported that when they boarded, four men who identified themselves as Nicaraguan nationals, were found along with several parcels of ganja.

The coast guard says it also found a spare engine.

The JDF says the boat was towed to the coast guard base in Black River St Elizabeth, where it along with its contents were processed.
