The Jamaica Urban Transit Company, JUTC says it’s losing up to 1-million dollars per day, due to an influx of illegal taxi operators on its routes in the Corporate Area.

This due to the industrial action by police personnel this week.

JUTC Managing Director, Colin Campbell says the taxi operators are a nuisance.

Alongside the decreased police presence, there have also been fewer officers from the Transport Authority and the Island Traffic Authority on the streets of the Corporate Area, since the start of the week.

Mr. Campbell says the bus company can do nothing until the police return to the streets.
