The Barbados Royals punched their ticket to Friday’s final of the CPL, with an emphatic 87 runs win over the Guyana Amazon Warriors in qualifier one today.

Opener Rahkeem Cornwall smashed 11-sixes and 2-fours in a whirlwind 91 of 54 balls, as the Royals posted a challenging 195 for 5 from their 20 overs. He was supported by Azam Khan 52 and captain Kyle Mayers 26.

Romario Shepherd took 2 for 29 bowling for the Warriors.

In reply, the Warriors stumbled to 108 all out, from 17.4 overs. Captain Shimron Hetmyer with 37, was the only batsman to get past 20.

Ramon Simmonds, 3 for 17 did most damage bowling for the Royals, he got good support from man of the match Cornwall (2 for 10), and Mujeeb Ur Rahman 2 for 21.

Action continues at 6:00 pm today with the eliminator, between the Jamaica Tallawahs and the St Lucia Kings. The Warriors will now play the winner of the Tallawahs vs Kings game, for a place in the final against the Royals.
