Finance Minister, Dr Nigel Clarke, says the government is working on a financial assistance programme for persons in the entertainment sector, who’ve suffered losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says there were a number of challenges with the processing of COVID-19 CARE grants for those from the sector who applied.

He says the Auditor General had raised concerns about the list of names submitted for that programme, noting that a number of applicants were never classified as entertainers.

Minister Clarke says on that list were several other professionals, including sports persons.

He says the list is being updated.
